課程概述

This short-term, but intense class instructed by Prof. Kenji Kashiwaya will be served during 1/12 - 1/16, 2018. Prof. Kashiwaya will give a series of lecture to introduce his new book, entitled: Geomorphology of Lake-Catchment Systesms: A New Perspective from Limnogeomorphology. Besides, a professional lecture, entitled: Assessing Stability of River Basins, by Prof. Chen will be given at 1/19.

課程目標
Geomorphology of lake-catchment systems aims to predict the altitude of a certain point on the earth's surface at a certain time. Therefore, proper process-understanding and exct quantitative data are required for estimating future land forms precisely. In this class, the students can learn the main agents of climate, tectonic, and anthropogenic activities on lake-catchment systems. Their interactions and their responses remained in lakes will be introduced. On the other hand, how to get the evidences of the interactions through sediment cores will be introduced as well. Thus, the students can learn how to infer the geologically and historically events through cores analysis.
課程要求
All students who want to select this class should participate the lectures during winter vacation. Asking questions after lecture are encouraged. Besides, each participated student should hand in a turn paper before 2/1, 2018.
